Official Postponement Announcement

It is with great regret that we have to announce that the Rochford Festival planned to be held in Cherry Orchard Country Park on the August Bank Holiday weekend this year, has had to be postponed until next year.

We have not taken this decision lightly and sincerely apologise to all of our faithful followers and those who have made plans around this year's event.

The site where we have been planning to hold the event, Cherry Orchard Country Park, is owned by the Council, who have not held any significant events in the area or on the Cherry Orchard Country Park before. Since initially being advised of the charges for the hire of the site at the beginning of our arrangements to hold the festival, the council have significantly and disproportionately increased their fees and additional charges for the site. Also, we are advised that the hire agreement from the council will not be available to sign until approximately 4 weeks before the event, mainly due to the fact that they have not had to produce one before. This has put the event in a precarious situation, to a degree that we have had to consider the risk to putting the event on this year, as being too high. No doubt with time, we could negotiate with the Council, but time is something we do not have for this year's event.

On the positive side, the performers have agreed to stick with us for us to be able to put the festival firmly in the calendar for next year, so we look forward to putting the event on in 2023, when all of the problems that have resulted in postponement of this year's festival will have been ironed out.

All tickets purchased in advance will be reimbursed through Eventbrite and any traders deposits paid, will be fully reimbursed.

Sadly, and with many apologies,

Adrian and Sharon.
